Weather Watch 20th February 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing seeing bands of rain which is heavy in places. The cloud is dominating. Winds gusting 30 to 60 mph and temps of 9.8C

We under a Met Office yellow weather warning for wind from 17:00 Today until 03:00 Sunday morning.

Sunday – As low pressure moves away and another weaker low pressure moves past the Western Isles. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. Fairly well scattered showers. Some decent spells of sunshine. Winds will be from the South and South West. Winds gusting 50 to 60 mph possibly 70 mph in the early hours gusting 40 to 50 mph during the day and under 30 mph to end the day. Temps of 5C to 9C

Monday – A little lull in storms on Monday but we have the next area of low pressure builds to the South West 948 mb and will move towards the UK as we head towards Tuesday. A drier and brighter day with some decent prolonged sunshine with plenty of dry conditions. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 4C to 9C

Tuesday – The next area of low pressure moves in with 959 mb. Strong winds and heavy rain will sweep across the Western Isles. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting to 60 mph. Again we could see some 70 mph gusts but some uncertainty as yet. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 6C to 9C

Multiple weather warnings have been issued across Amber warning for Wales

A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for South West Scotland for Tuesday into Wednesday.

Been some severe flooding in Wales today.

The Saharan Dust could provide some spectacular skies tonight at sunset for the Southern half of the UK

Still large amounts of snow in Scotland
