The week ahead forecast – More stormy weather but high pressure builds later in the week


Welcome to the week ahead forecast. The full in depth forecast for Monday can be found in the update below this one. It has been a wet and windy weekend across the Western isles. A mild weekend.

Tuesday – We are going to see winds gusting 50 to 60 mph at times reaching 70 mph at times during the early hours. Rains which will be heavy and at times persistent. Some sunny spells in the breaks but the cloud will mainly dominate. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 6C to 10C

Wednesday – b. We are going to see brisk winds during the entire day. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Some early hour winds gusting 50 mph. An overcast day with some sunny spells. Mainly dry but a few scattered showers. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 9C

Thursday – A day of sunshine and scattered showers across the Western Isles with blustery winds. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 9C

Friday – Another day of sunshine and showers. More in the way of cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph in the early hours. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 9C

Next weekend – Still seeing winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Overcast but mostly dry.
