Weather Watch 1st March 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Monday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Monday afternoon we are seeing sunshine and cloud. Its dry the best of the sunshine is for the Uist and Barra. Todays high of 9.9C so far. Winds under 15 mph.

Little change for the rest of the evening. Fine and mainly dry with sunshine and clear skies after sunset. Some mist and fog in places. Winds under 10 mph for the most part.

Tuesday – High pressure still dominates the weather across the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see fine and dry conditions with sunshine and cloud. Some decent and prolonged sunshine. The odd scattered shower cannot be ruled out but. most places should be dry. A slight chance of some morning frost and ice. We could see some mist and fog patches. Winds under 20 mph from variable directions. Temps of 2C to 10C

Wednesday – High pressure still dominates the weather across the UK. A shallow low pressure sits to the South West of the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see fine and dry conditions with sunshine and cloud. The cloud will mainly dominate. The odd scattered shower cannot be ruled out but. most places should be dry. A slight chance of some morning frost and ice. We could see some mist and fog patches. Winds under 20 mph from variable directions. Temps of 3C to 8C

Thursday – High pressure develops North of the UK and a cold front moves across the UK bringing in cold air across the UK. For us in the Western Isles cold air will move in. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Some scattered showers. A day of sunshine and cloud as the cold front clears. A risk of frost and ice. Winds will be from the North East. Temps of 0C to 7C
