Weather Watch 2nd March 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Tuesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Tuesday afternoon we are seeing fine and dry conditions with sunshine and cloud. Stubborn cloud for South Uist and Barra. Winds under 20 mph and today’s high so far of 8.1C

The rest of today will be fine and dry with sunshine and cloud. Clear skies after sunset so temps will drop again with risk of frost and ice once more. Winds staying light.

Wednesday – Things slowly changing. Becoming colder as as a cold front approaches from the North. a fine and dry day. High pressure builds across Iceland. A low pressure system forms to the South West of the UK. For us in the Western isles a sunshine and cloud day. It should be mainly dry but the odd scattered shower cannot be ruled out. A slight chance of frost and ice. Winds under 20 mph from North West and North East. Temps of 2C to 7C

Thursday – The cold front moves across the Western Isles with high pressure over Scotland. It will be a colder day with sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers. Most places fine and dry. Winds will be around 10 to 30 mph so a little bit winder then we have seen of late. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of 1C to 6C and feeling colder in the wind chill.

Friday – High pressure firmly centered over the UK on Friday. The cold front of the previous few days has cleared away. A fine and dry day with sunshine and cloud. winds under 20 mph for the Western Isles. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 2C to 7C
