Good afternoon and welcome to Monday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Monday afternoon we are seeing a band of rain and showers across Harris and North Uist. We are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Winds under 15 mph and today’s high so far of 9.0C

Tuesday – Low pressure system to our South West of us will bring strong winds and heavy rain later on Tuesday. It will be a dry day with sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Into the afternoon and evening we are going to see heavy and persistent rain sweeping across the Western Isles. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph at times reaching 70 to possibly 75 mph for Uist and Barra. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 4C to 9C
Wednesday – The low pressure system that brought us strong winds on Tuesday moves away the next area of low pressure moves in from the South West into England and Wales. We are going to see rain and showers with some sunny spells throughout the day. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Some of the rain will be persistent during the late afternoon and early evening. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 8C
Thursday – Low pressure systems sit to the North of the UK with strong airflow with windy conditions for most of the country. In the Western Isles we are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. These heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. At times reaching 60 mph for Uist and Barra. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 3C to 8C
