Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing rain and heavy showers moving across the islands. Some sunny spells with plenty of cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Todays high so far of 9.6C

Friday – We are going to see a wet night across the islands with two cold fronts moving across the islands. The rain will be heavy and slow moving. Into the morning it will feel cold with some blustery winds. For the rest of the day we are going to see sunshine and showers. These heavy at times. Winds of 10 to 20 mph at times gusting 30 mph. We should see a drier in end to the day. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 1C to 8C
Saturday – High pressure builds in for a time in the morning. Some wintry showers and sleet at times. An area of low pressure sits out to the West. We are going to see a dry overcast morning with heavy and persistent rain moving in during the afternoon and evening. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph into the evening gusting 50 to possibly 60 to 65 mph for Uist and Barra later. Winds will be from the North West overnight but coming from the West and South West from the morning. Temps of 2C to 8C
Sunday – Two low pressure systems sit to our North West. We are going to see a day of strong winds. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph at times. With spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 5C to 8C and feeling colder in the wind chill.
