Good afternoon and welcome to Friday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Friday afternoon we are seeing rain and squally showers moving across the islands. These are heavy in places. Some hail and sleet mixed in. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Today’s high of 7.3C

Saturday – High pressure sits across the UK. Low pressure sits far to the West of us and rain will move in. Overnight we are going to see a cold night with some sleet and snow showers. A risk of some frost and ice. This will clear away to by mid morning. The rest of the morning and afternoon will be mainly fine and dry with sunshine and cloud. The evening will see heavy and persistent rain will move in with stronger winds gusting 40 to 50 mph at times gusting 60 mph. Winds will be from the West and North West shifting to come from the South and South West later in the day. Temps of 2C to 9C
Sunday – A strong weather fronts across the Southern half of the UK whilst windy across the UK. For us in the Western isles spells of rain which will be heavy at times. A dry start with some sunshine. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to possibly 60 mph. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 8C
Monday – Low pressure sits far to our North but weather fronts linger across Scotland. A cloud dominating day across the Western Isles with spells of rain heavy at times. Gales likely in the morning with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Winds ease during Monday but staying wet. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 6C to 11C
