Monday’s forecast – A wind sandwich

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing some rain and drizzle moving across the islands. The cloud is dominating. Winds of 20 to 40 mph and today’s high of 9.1C so far.

Overnight – We are going to see some strong winds across the Uist and Barra gusting 50 to 60 mph. We are going to see further spells of rain moving across the islands. The cloud will dominate with some clear spells at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph but as mentioned above gusting 50 to 60 mph at times.

Morning – Mainly fine and dry. With a few scattered showers. Some decent spells of sunshine with variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Afternoon and evening – The rain will gradually feedback into all parts. The cloud will dominate. The rain will become heavier into the evening. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph for Uist and Barra into the later evening.

Will be from the South West and temps of 6C to 10C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
