Weather Watch 29th March 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Monday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Monday afternoon we are seeing rain and showers moving across the Western Isles. This rain is heavy in places. The cloud is dominating. Winds have dropped under 20 mph and today’s high so far of 9.4C

Tuesday – A cold front lingers across Scotland with mild and warmer air moves into England and Wales. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see an overcast day with spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Some light spells. Overnight gales gusting 40 to 50 mph. Into Tuesday winds of 20 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the West and South West. Into the late morning coming down from the North and North West. Temps of 5C to 11C

Wednesday – High pressure starts to build across the Western Isles. A weather front lingers across the UK. Morning and afternoon rain which will be heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Becoming drier and brighter with sunshine and cloud in the afternoon. Some scattered showers. Winds will be from the North East. Temps of 3C to 8C

Thursday – Cold front moves across the UK. High. Pressure builds in from the West. We are going to see a day of wall to wall sunshine. Winds will be brisk from the North East. 10 to 30 mph. A cold start to the day with a risk of some frost and ice. Temps of 2C to 9C
