Tuesday’s forecast – Enough with the rain already

Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing heavy rain across Lewis and Harris. Drier with some scattered showers for Uist and Barra. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Today’s high of 10C

Overnight – We are going to see an overcast night with spells of light rain and this will be heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph for Uist and Barra.

Tuesday day – Will be a wet day. We are likely to see 20 mm to 30 mm of rain widely. For parts of Harris and Southern Lewis up to 40 mm depending on the exact location of the weather front. So we are going to see rounds of rain which will be heavy and persistent at times. The cloud dominating. Some spells of lighter rain with drizzle. Some dry spells for a time. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Easing as the day goes on.

Winds will be from South and South West and will shift as the day goes on from the North and North West. Temps of 5C to 11C

Wednesday – Spells of rain. Heavy at times with blustery winds from the North East.

Thursday and Friday – Fine. Dry and sunny with wall to wall sunshine.

Looking ahead to the week possibly the warmest day of the year on Saturday before we hit colder weather for Easter and possibly the return of sleet and snow showers.
