Wednesday’s forecast – slow changes

Good evening Western isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing rain moving across the Western Isles. This is heavy and persistent in places. Plenty of mist and low cloud. Today’s high of 10.9C so far.

Overnight – We are going to see a cloud dominating night. Some rain and drizzle. The rain heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph strongest as the night goes on. Some low cloud at times.

Morning and afternoon – Some lingering spells of rain. Overcast with some hazy sunshine. Spells of light rain and drizzle on and off at times throughout the day. The rain clearing southwards as we head into the evening. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Evening – Mainly overcast some clear spells. Lingering rain for Uist and Barra. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the North East. Temps of 4C to 9C

Thursday, Friday and Saturday – Fine dry and sunny. Wall to wall sunshine at times. Cold mornings risk of frost. Variable amounts of cloud with lighter winds. Possibly the warmest day of the year on Saturday.

Still looking cold for the end of the weekend into next week with the risk of sleet and snow showers keeping an eye on it.
