Welcome to the week ahead forecast. The full in depth forecast for Monday can be found in the update below this one. It was a nice but overcast start to the weekend with sunshine at times. All change on Sunday with colder air and then snow moving in this evening.
Tuesday – The cold airflow continues. With snow showers overnight then rain sleet and snow showers during the course of Tuesday. Heavy and squally at times possibly thundery with hail mixed in at times. Feeling very cold in the wind chill. Some sunny spells. Winds will be from the North West around 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.
Wednesday – The cold airflow finally eases. High pressure moves in and becomes milder as the day goes on. We are going to see an overcast day with spells of rain at times. Some sleet mixed in. The cloud dominates with some sunny spells. Winds will be from the West and South. West around 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 2C to 8C
Thursday – A day of showers and sunny spells. These will be heavy at times merging into some longer spells of rain. Mild start turning colder later. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Temps of 2C to 10C
Friday – A little bit of uncertainty as yet but as the low pressure system that brought Thursday’s rain clears away we are going to be left in a cold airflow with rain sleet and snow showers once again. This airflow will not be anywhere near as intense as we have seen at the start of the week but once again feeling cold. Winds will be from the North West around 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Temps of 1C to 5C
Next weekend – A cold start to the weekend but high pressure attempts to build in for the latter half of the weekend but rain looks sit to slip in.
I hope you have a great week. Over the course of the coming week, we will keep you updated with the latest weather and the 3 day ahead forecasts. Keep an eye on the blog for extra updates!
