Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing rain sleet and snow showers moving across the islands. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph and today’s high of 8.2C but now this evening temps have dropped to close to freezing.

Overnight – We are going to see sleet and snow showers moving across the islands. This could result in some accumulations of snow for a time and for some a dusting. Heavier snow over higher ground with frost and ice widely. Temps down to -3C. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.
Friday day – We are going to see a day of sunshine and wintry showers with sleet and snow. Some accumulations for a time. Variable amounts of cloud. Some of the showers turning to rain for Uists and Barra. Frost and ice again. Some dry spells with plenty of cloud. Some clear skies and frost and ice again into the evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph some gusts reaching 40 mph.
Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of -3C to 6C
