Weather Watch 25th April 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing sunshine and cloud. Light winds under 20 mph. Today’s high of 13.4C so far.

Monday – Low pressure system moves down from the North and high pressure sits across the Southern half of the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see overnight cloud with a band of rain moving in which will be heavy at times. The sunshine and showers for the morning and afternoon. Becoming drier in the late evening. Overcast for the most part. Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of 7C to 12C

Tuesday – The low pressure weakens as it drifts Southwards and high pressure mainly dominates. For us in the Western isles a few scattered morning showers and then a day of sunshine and cloud. Some decent spells of sunshine at times. But a brisk North Easterly wind will feature heavily and make it feel colder. Winds will be around 10 to 30 mph and temps of 5C to 10C feeling colder in the wind chill.

Wednesday – A slack airflow across the UK on Wednesday. We are going to see a cool day in the Western Isle. It is expected to be dry but largely overcast with some sunny spells. A cold morning but warming up as the day goes on. Wind will come from the North and North East. Temps of 2C to 9C
