Weather Watch 1st May 2021

Welcome to Saturday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing a lot of cloud around. Some hazy sunshine. Some sunny spells but mainly cloudy. A few scattered showers. Winds under 10 mph. Todays high of 8.3C so far.

Sunday – High pressure sits across the UK. In the Western Isles we are going to see a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Showers and these will be heavy at times. Most frequent across Lewis and Harris. Some decent spells of sunshine and plenty of cloud. Winds will be from variable directions and temps of 3C to 10C

Monday – Low pressure moves into the UK. This will bring wind and rain to many parts. Warnings have been issued ( more below). For us in the Western Isles we are going to see overcast conditions with some showers. A chilly start to the day. Winds will increase as the day goes on. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the North East. Temps of 2C to 10C

Tuesday – Low pressure moves out into the North sea and it will stay fairly windy across the UK. Here in the Western isles we are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. it will feel cold in the North Easterly winds. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph. Temps of 2C to 9C

A Met Office yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for parts of England and Wales from 12:00 Monday until 09:00 Tuesday morning.
