Welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Wednesday afternoon we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Prolonged cloud with light rain and drizzle for parts of Lewis. Winds under 20 mph and todays high of 11.6C so far.

Thursday – High pressure sits across parts of the UK with weather fronts encroaching into Ireland. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see a mainly fine and dry day with sunshine and cloud. Some decent and prolonged sunshine at times. Cloud increasing into the evening with a few scattered showers. Winds will be from the East and North East under 20 mph. Temps of 7C to 15C

Friday – Settled conditions across the UK with a weak area of low pressure over Ireland. We are going to see a mixture of sunshine and cloud across the Western Isles with some scattered showers these mainly across Uist and Barra. Winds will be under 20 mph from the East and North East. Temps of 10C to 16C so possibly the warmest day of the year so far.

Saturday – High pressure builds across the UK. We are going to see a fine and dry day across the Western Isles with some decent and prolonged sunshine. Variable amounts of cloud. It should be dry but the odd shower cannot be ruled out. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Feeling warmer. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 8C to 17C
