Welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Thursday evening we are seeing overcast conditions with rain and drizzle the next band of heavy rain is moving towards the Western Isles. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Todays high of 15.3C

Friday – A cold front moves across the UK. Low pressure system sits close to Iceland. We are going to see overnight rain for the Western Isles. Showers again for the morning but the cloud will start to break. We are going to see mainly fine and dry afternoon and evening with sunshine and cloud. Winds will be from the West and South West around 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 9C to 16C

Saturday – High pressure builds across the UK but the next area of low pressure system is moving in from the West. We are going to see an overcast day with some rain and drizzle at times but a much drier and brighter with some sunny spells. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from the West and South West. Temps of 9C to 16C

Sunday – The next area of low pressure moves past Iceland and a weather front sits across Northern Scotland. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see an overcast day with occasional sunny spells. Some rain and showers. These heavy at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching 40 mph from the South West. Temps of 9C to 15C
