Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing an overcast evening with a few clear spells. Winds under 20 mph. Today’s high of 17.9C
Right, first things first there is a bucket load of uncertainty with Tuesday’s forecast. A lot of it will depend on the position of the low pressure system and its associated fronts but I will guide you across it and tighten up the details on the morning briefing tomorrow morning.
Overnight – A cloud dominating night. Mist low cloud and drizzle is likely for many areas, especially around coastal fringes. Some clear spells. A few scattered showers will bubble up and some of these heavy and slight possibility of them being thundery. Winds under 20 mph.
Morning – Again cloud dominating. Some showers will be heavy at times with hail mixed in. A few of the showers could turn thundery. Some sunny spells in the breaks in the cloud. A few of the showers will merge into longer spells of rain. Winds under 20 mph.
Afternoon and evening – Rain and showers once again. A slight chance of the showers being thundery with hail mixed in. But the showers will tend to merge into some longer spells of rain. Some heavier and more persistent rain will move in as the day goes on. Lots of model uncertainty as to the exact location of the heaviest of the rain but most of the Western Isles have a chance of seeing rain that will be heavy and even persistent in spots. A few areas will stay completely dry. This is the area I hope to firm up on more tomorrow. Winds of to 10 to 25 mph.
Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of 11C to 16C
