Weather Watch 10th August 2021

Welcome to Tuesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news and events from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Tuesday evening we are seeing a mixture of sunny spells and plenty of cloud. Some light rain and drizzle. Winds under 20 mph and todays high of 16C

The next 3 days

Wednesday – Low pressure sits well to the west of the UK but its associated weather fronts move across the UK. For us in the Western Isles after a dry start to the day we are going to see rain moving across the islands. The rain will become heavy and at times persistent as the morning goes on. Clearing to sunshine and showers for the afternoon becoming largely fine and dry with sunshine for the late evening. Winds in the morning will come from the South East shifting to come from the South West later in the day around 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 10C to 16C

Thursday – Low pressure sits close to the UK on Thursday with its associated weather fronts. After a mainly fine and dry night we are going to see heavy and at times persistent rain moving into the Western Isles later in the day. Some sunny spells in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph possibly in some more exposed coastal locations gusting 50 mph from the South East but shifting South West in the afternoon. Temps of 12C to 17C

Friday – Low pressure sits to the North of the UK with weather fronts across North parts. High pressure pushes back in across the far South. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see spells of rain and showers. These will be heavy at times, possibly becoming persistent at times. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the rain. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the West and South West but slowly easing as the evening goes on. Temps of 10C to 17C
