Welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news and events from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday evening we are seeing a mostly overcast evening with some sunny spells. Rain and showers which are well scattered but heavy in places. Winds under 20 mph and todays high so far of 14.8C

Monday – High pressure sits across the UK with a weather front moving in the from the West. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see an overcast day with some patchy light rain and drizzle. This will become a little more prominent during the afternoon and early evening. Some sunny spells. Winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting 30 mph into the evening from the West and North West. Temps of 10C to 17C

Tuesday – High pressure to the South West and Low pressure to the far North West and weather fronts in between. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see an overcast day with spells of light rain and drizzle but mainly dry with occasional spells of sunshine. Winds will be from the West and North West around 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 12C to 17C

Wednesday – Low pressure over Scandinavia and high pressure declines South Westwards. Weather fronts move down form the North. A rinse and repeat of Tuesday and overcast day with some light rain and drizzle. Some sunny spells at times but the cloud will dominate. Winds will be from the North West around 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 12C to 17C
