Weather Watch 29th September 2021

Welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news and events from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Wednesday afternoon we are seeing sunshine and cloud. Scattered showers heavy in places. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Todays high of 12.1C so far.

Thursday – low pressure sits between the UK and Iceland. Multiple weather fronts move across the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see spells of rain heavy at times. Winds will gust 40 to 50 mph widely possibly reaching 60 mph for Uist and Barra. Into Thursday daytime we will see a day of sunshine and showers which will be heavy at times with winds gusting 20 to 40 mph winds easing into the late evening. Winds will be from the South East and South but shifting to come from the South West. Temps of 7C to 14C

Friday – Low pressure dominates the weather across the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see a day of sunshine and showers these will be heavy at times. The heaviest of the rain will be in the overnight hours. Winds of 20 to 40 mph with some gusts reaching 50 mph at times. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 8C to 13C

Saturday – Areas of low pressure dominate across the UK lots of uncertainty as yet. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see a day of sunshine and scattered showers. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Winds will be from variable directions and temps of 6C to 13C
