Weather Watch 17th October 2021

Welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the next 3 days in depth for the Western Isles as well as covering the latest weather news and events from the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing fine and dry conditions with some decent and prolonged sunshine. Still some cloud mainly for South Uist and Barra. Winds under 20 mph and todays high of 12.4C so far

Monday – Multiple areas if low pressure swirl away in the North Atlantic and weather fronts move across the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Plenty of cloud with some sunny spells. winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph at times. Winds will be from the South East shifting South West later. Temps of 10C to 14C

Tuesday – Low pressure dominates the weather and weather fronts still sit across the UK. For us in the Western Isles we are going to see spells of rain and showers which will be heavy and at times persistant. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph at times. In the breaks in the rain some sunny spells. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 10C to 15C

Wednesday – Broad areas of low pressure still dominate the weather across the UK. For us in the Western Isles a mainly fine nd dry day with a few scattered showers which occasionally will be heavy. Some decent spells of sunshine. Variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 6C to 13C
