Friday’s forecast – A brief respite

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing rain and squally showers moving across the Western Isles with a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Some of these showers are wintry in places. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Today’s high of 10.2C

Overnight – Further rain and squally showers these heavy at times and possibly wintry in places. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Morning – Further squally showers but gradually dying out. A mixture of sunshine and cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. Variable amounts of cloud. Best of the sunshine for Lewis and Harris. A few lingering showers heavy at times. Winds under 20 mph.

Evening – A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Some showers but for most it will be dry. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the North and North West shifting South and South West later. Temps of 6C to 12C

Saturday, Sunday and Monday – Rounds of rain and showers these heavy and persistant at times. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph at times gusting 50 mph. Becoming milder again.
