Hello and welcome to a look back at our weather in October 2021 – We cover the Western Isles and take a look at the rest of the UK’s weather further down in the blog.
October was another very wet month for the Western Isles. It was a fairly mild month and we also saw a dull month.
Stornoway airport and South Uist Met Office site stats.
Stornoway Airport recorded 44.3 hours of sunshine. The dullest October since 2012 which had 41 hours of sunshine. Stornoway Airport record 214.8 mm of rain.
South Uist recorded 194 mm of rain

All sites recorded their wettest month of the year so far.
Creed Bridge – 248 mm
Birkie Hue – 247 mm
Laxdale Harris – 300 mm
Mill Croft – 263 mm

We had one daily record during October Harris Qudinish was the wettest place in the UK on the 9th of October
