Good afternoon Western Isles the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds which covers the entire Western Isles islands chain. The warning comes into force at 20:00 Saturday evening and expires at 17:00 Sunday evening.
The full warning and latest updates can be found here https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2021-11-06&id=f95d6ab3-5652-4e78-ba46-81d639f60875&details
This is looking like the first severe wind event of the season for the Western Isles this weekend. Worth making sure everything is safe and secured down in gardens. If you have plans for firework displays may be worth considering shifting to Friday. We haven’t hit 60 mph yet this winter so this could be the first time.
For tidal information, this is a great website https://www.tidetimes.org.uk/ I expect SEPA to issue flood alerts possibly flood warnings at some point. They have done neither yet but with spring tides due.
If you do suffer a power cut remember it’s 105 to speak to them and they can advise you on the likely time for restoration of power.
Please do NOT use Western Isles Weather for the protection of life and property please follow local and national government issued warnings and advice. Please have more than one source for weather information in extreme weather, Such as the Met office and follow any advice and instructions from emergency responders.
