Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing further bands of rain moving across the Western Isles this is heavy and persistent in places. The cloud is dominating. Winds have subsided under 20 mph. Today’s high of 12.8C

Mondays forecast

Overnight – We are going to see a mixture of clear skies and cloud. A few lingering showers and these will be heavy at times. Winds of 10 to 25 mph. Overnight lows down to 6C.

Morning and afternoon – A mixture of sunshine and cloud. Some decent spells of sunshine and a few well scattered showers. Cloud increases during the afternoon. Some light rain and drizzle is possible by later afternoon. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Evening – For the most part staying dry some light rain again. Winds will increase further into the evening gusting 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 9C to 12C

Tuesday

Another day of strong winds and spells of heavy rain across the Western Isles. Some sunny in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph during the morning possibly 60 mph in some coastal spots. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 6C to 12C

Wednesday

A day of brisk winds with rain and showers. These are likely to be squally possibly wintry in nature. Some sunny spells in between the showers. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph at times. Easing into the evening. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 5C to 12C

Thursday

Further spells of rain will sweep across the Western Isles this will be heavy and persistent at times. Cloud dominating. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the West and South West. Temps of 5C to 13C

Friday

Another cloud dominating day with spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds again gusting 20 to 40 mph possibly reaching 50 mph for a time during the early hours. Temps of 8C to 13C

Next weekend

Another showery weekend with brisk winds. Turning colder.
