Tuesday’s forecast- Strong winds and rain

Thank you to everyone who gave feedback over the proposed forecast changes it has all massively helped. The old style evening forecasts have been reinstated and changes have been made to the Weather watch blogs and these will become less frequent.

Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing rain and drizzle moving across the islands. Becoming heavy in spots. Winds gusting 40 mph and today’s high of 10.8C

Overnight – Spells of rain and drizzle. Cloud dominating. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph.

Morning and early afternoon – Heavy and at times persistent rain will move across the islands. The bulk of the heavy rain will clear away but a band of intense rain is expected to quickly sweep across the islands during the early afternoon. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Late afternoon and early evening – Showers squally at times. Heavy in spots. In between some sunny spells and occasional clear skies but plenty of cloud. Feeling cooler into the evening. Winds easing 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 5C to 11C
