We are now going to take a look at the next few days weather for the Western Isles. All the images shown below come from the Met office and can be found by following this link https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/maps-and-charts/surface-pressure
Tuesday – High pressure across the UK but low pressure systems close to Iceland. For us in the Western Isles, we are going to see an overcast day with spells of rain and drizzle. Some more heavier showers at times. Winds will be around 20 to 40 mph strongest into the evening. Temps of 5C to 11C
Wednesday – A cold front sweeps across the UK in association with an area of low pressure. For us in the Western Isles, we are going to see rain and showers heavy at times during the overnight period. Then sunshine and showers during Wednesday itself. Plenty of dry spells in between. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph late evening.
Thursday – High pressure reasserts itself across the UK. For us in the Western Isles, we are going to see an overcast day with spells of rain heavy at times with some of the showers turning wintry at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of 4C to 10C
Still a lot of uncertainty yet but it’s looking like we could see some extremely strong winds that could be damaging. We will hopefully see a firmer idea in the coming days and I will keep you updated.
