Good afternoon. Earlier today the Met Office issued two severe weather warning for winds for the Western Isles for Friday and Saturday this week.
The first warning comes into force at 12:00 on Friday afternoon and expires at 23:59 Friday evening
The second warning comes into force at 00:00 Saturday morning and expires at 18:00 Saturday evening.

So at this stage there is a lot of uncertainty as to how strong the winds will be for us in the Western isles. We are likely to see strong winds Friday and Saturday but how strong is where the uncertainty lies the track of low pressure will very much determine the strength of the winds. There is a lot of changes between forecast models so do not relay on one model. We already seeing disruption on the ferry network and advance disruption on flights.
I will keep you updated. At this stage its important to be aware of the risks and plan accordingly.
