Sunday’s forecast and beyond for the Western Isles – A reasonable December day

Good evening Westen Isles on this Saturday evening we are seeing a mainly fine and dry evening with a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Today’s high of 6.7C

Overnight – A mixture of clear skies and cloud. A few isolated occasionally heavy showers. Risk of frost and ice in places as temps drop. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Some decent and prolonged sunshine with variable amounts of cloud. A few socially distancing showers. Occasionally heavy but the vast majority will stay dry. Winds under 20 mph.

Evening – Cloud thickens in for all places. Some rain moving in much later in the day. Winds of 20 to 40 mph increasing into the late evening.

Winds will be from variable directions. Temps of 1C to 8C

Monday – Overnight rain sweeps across the Western Isles with strengthening winds spells of heavy rain and showers during Monday with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Some sunny spells. in between. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 1C to 8C

Tuesday – A cold night mainly fine and dry with a risk of frost and ice. Rain and showers will feed in later in the morning and for the rest of the day. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph later in the day. Winds will be from the East and South East. Temps of 2C to 7C

Wednesday – As low pressure clears away a mainly fine and dry with sunshine and cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the East and North. Temps of 3C to 8C

Thursday – A fine and dry start to the day with plenty of cloud. Some sunny spells. Rain will move in later in the day. Heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the South and South-West. Temps of 3C to 8C
