Wednesday’s forecast and beyond for the Western Isles – The East wind

Good evening Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing rain and wintry showers. Sleet and snow. Feeling cold. Overcast with winds gusting 50 to 60 mph. Today’s high of 6.2C

Wednesday set up – Storm Barra slowly fills in and becomes less strong as it slowly slides across the UK and eventually into the North Sea.

Overnight – A mixture of clear skies and cloud with a few lingering wintry showers. Most places dry with a risk of frost and ice in spots. Winds of 20 to 40 mph with an overnight low of 3C

Morning and afternoon – Mostly fine and dry with sunshine and cloud. Some decent spells of sunshine but still plenty of cloud with a few lingering showers. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Evening – Mainly fine and dry with clear skies and cloud. Some scattered showers. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the East and South East. Temps of 3C to 8C

Thursday – Dry start but rain and showers move in later in the day with winds increasing. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the West and South West. Temps of 3C to 6C

Friday – Brisk winds with sunshine and showers. These heavy and squally at times. Winds will be brisk. Winds of 20 to 40 mph easing under 20 mph from the North West. Temps of 1C to 7C with a risk of evening frost and ice.

Saturday – Spells of rain heavy at times for the morning and afternoon. Becoming frier and brighter into the evening. Winds will be from the South and South West around 20 to 45 mph. Temps of 6C to 10C

Sunday – Another overcast day with some sunny spells. Brisk winds with showers. Winds will be from the West and South West. Around 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 4c to 9C
