Monday’s forecast – Overnight storm

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing rain and showers move across the Western Isles heavy in places. Winds under 20 mph. Today’s high of 7.7C

This evening – Further spells of rain which will be heavy and persistent at times. Plenty of cloud. Winds will start to build gusting 20 to 40 mph reaching 50 mph. By late evening gusting 60 to 70 mph. in some exposed coastal spots 80 mph is possible.

Overnight – The heaviest of the rain will gradually clear away to squally showers these heavy and possibly wintry at times. Winds at the start of the night gusting 50 to 60 mph in some spots reaching 70 to possibly 80 mph but will gradually ease down as the night goes on. Winds of 20 to 40 mph by the morning.

Morning and afternoon – Further squally showers these heavy at times possibly wintry. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph.

Evening – Clear skies and cloud with further squally showers. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 4C to 9C

Outlook

Tuesday – Heavy rain and winds gusting 50 to 60 mph. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 4C to 11C

Wednesday – Winds ease fine and dry day with sunshine and cloud. Winds will be from the South West under 20 mph. Temps of 4C to 8C

Thursday – An overcast day with brisk winds some rain at times. Winds will be from the South West gusting 30 mph. Temps of 6C to 12C

Friday – High pressure builds in for a fine and dry day with light winds and sunshine and cloud. Winds under 20 mph. Temps of 7C to 11C
