Winter so far for the Western Isles

Hello and welcome to this blog taking a look at the winter weather for the Western Isles. December and January have been both dull and mild.

The temperature has yet to officially go below freezing at Stornoway Airport this winter so far. The average temperature being 6.1C

last winter by the same point we had 6 days where below freezing temperatures were recorded.

The temperature has yet to officially go below freezing at South Uist this winter. The average temperature being 7C

last winter by the same point South Uist had 7 days where below freezing temperatures were recorded.

We have seen a few windy days during December and January with 4 days for Stornoway and 5 for South Uist over 60 mph more here
