Wednesdays – It must be winter

Good evening Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing wintry showers moving across the islands. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph and today’s high of 7.9C

Overnight – A mixture of clear skies and cloud with further sleet and snow showers. Some of these falling as rain the further south you are. We are likely to see further accumulations of snow to lower levels as the night goes on. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph for Uist and Barra.

Morning and afternoon – A procession of showers will move across the islands throughout the day. A mixture of rain sleet and snow. Possibly thundery for goods measure. The snow will once again cause accumulations in places. In between some decent spells of sunshine. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Evening – Clear skies and cloud with further squally wintry showers. These heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 1C to 7C

Thursday – Winds easing sunshine and wintry showers. Winds ease for a time. Winds will be from the North West. Temps of 2C to 7C

Friday – Brisk winds and showers. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph later. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 2C to 8C

Saturday and Sunday – Rain and showers heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph from the West and South West. Temps of 3C to 9C
