Fridays forecast – Dy cold start but wind increasing later

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Under clearing skies, we are seeing some frost and ice. Temperatures are closer to or below freezing. Winds under 20 mph and today high of 6.5C

Overnight – Clear skies and cloud. Frost and ice to start the night but becoming milder as the night goes on. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. A few scattered showers these wintry in places.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. Scattered occasionally heavy and wintry showers. Some more heavier rain moving in later in the afternoon. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Evening – Heavier and more persistent rain will sweep across the islands. The cloud dominating. The rain will ease by late evening. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to possibly 60 mph.

Winds will be from South and South West. Temps of -1C to 7C

Saturday – Rain and showers overcast with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph from the South West. Temps of 5C to 9C

Sunday – Sunshine and showers with brisk winds gusting 20 to 40 mph from the South West. Temps of 4C to 8C

Monday – Sunshine and showers a few of these becoming wintry later. Winds from the North and North West. Temps of 2C to 7C

Tuesday – Brisk winds with rain and showers. Heavy rain at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 10C
