Friday morning brief

Good morning Western Isles this is your morning briefing,

On this Friday morning, we are seeing a cold icy start to the day with one of the coldest nights of the winter so far. A mixture of sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers. Winds gusting 40 mph and an overnight low of -1C at a Met Office site.

Today – Things will become milder fast as the day goes on and the ice will clear away. The morning and afternoon will see some sunshine at times. Plenty of cloud. Scattered showers. Rain will spread into all parts late afternoon and evening. This will become heavy and persistent at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph during the evening. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 3C to 8C

Saturday – Rain and showers overcast with winds gusting 20 to 40 mph.

Sunday and Monday – Sunshine and showers with brisk winds. Some of the showers wintry later on Monday. Gusting 20 to 40 mph.
