Good evening all. There is a lot of talk about stormy weather again next weekend on Wednesday and Friday. A lot of noise. XC weather is showing a lot of bright colours and people get concerned. Even more so especially as storm Corrie caused a lot of people damage as well as stress and upset.
What we know so far is these possible spells of windy weather so far have low confidence. They are many days away. So suggested wind speeds are likely to fluctuate a lot. The exact track of where the low might go will change. We do know that there will be a powerful jet stream which will help to fuel these strong storms and some of the longer range computer models are suggesting that strong winds could impact our Islands next week. We don’t know how strong the winds could be at this stage. Keep in mind what you see on XC weather is just one model solution and just one of many computer models runs.
So I will keep you updated and let you know if anything changes and what the impacts are likely to be as we get closer. If severe weather occurs I will guide you through it all like with every other storm. Hopefully, if they do occur they won’t be as impactful. No warnings have been issued yet. But once todays spell of windy weather pushes away and the later part of the weekend and into next week it may be an idea to secure any loose objects in your garden especially anything that was relocated by previous storms.
