Week ahead forecast – Stormy again

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing an overcast evening with spells of rain and drizzle. Plenty of clear spells. Winds under 20 mph and today’s high of 8.4C

Overnight – Clear skies and cloud. Further squally showers which will be wintry at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph,

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. Some decent spells of sunshine. Squally showers that will be wintry at times. A few of them will merge into some longer spells of rain. Winds of 10 to 30 mph some morning gusts reaching 40 mph.

Evening – Clear skies and cloud. Further rain and showers. Under clearing skies later in the evening, we are likely to see some frost and ice. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of -1C to 6C

Outlook

Tuesday – Heavy overnight rain. Then rain and showers some sunny spells. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 2C to 7C

Wednesday – Rain and showers heavy at times. Winds increasing as the day goes on. Winds gusting 50 to 60 mph from the West and Southwest. Temps of 2C to 10C

Thursday – Further spells of heavy rain. Strong winds but lots of uncertainty on the finer details of where the strongest winds will be. Winds gusting 60 to 70 mph possibly 80 mph at times. I will keep you updated.

Friday – Sunshine and wintry showers. Turning colder again. Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of 2C to 8C.

Next weekend – Staying unsettled with further wintry showers and turning windy again for the end of the weekend.
