Monday morning brief

Good morning Western Isles this is your morning briefing,

On this Monday morning, we are seeing rain and showers moving across the Western Isles with plenty of cloud. Some sunshine. Winds gusting 30 mph and an overnight low of 4.9C

A reminder a Met Office yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for the Western Isles from 18:00 Wednesday evening until 18:00 Thursday evening the full warning and latest updates can be found via the Met Office website or app.

Today – Rain and scattered showers these heavy at times. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. These increase into the late afternoon. Showers become more scattered late this evening before a band of rain moves into Barra by late evening. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 2C to 7C

Tuesday – Heavy overnight rain clearing to sunshine and showers with brisk winds.

Wednesday – Further heavy rain with strong winds gusting 50 to 60 mph. Gusting 70 mph for Uist and Barra.

Thursday – Overnight strong winds gusting 60 to 70 mph possible 80 mph in spots. Rain and showers at times with winds gusting 50 to 60 mph during the day on Thursday.
