Good evening Western Isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing rain and showers moving across the Western Isles. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph and today’s high of 6.3C

Overnight – Spells of rain will move across the Western isles this will be heavy and persistent at times. Some clear skies but mainly overcast. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. Wintry sleet and snow showers. Heavy at times. Some of the showers will merge into some longer spells of rain at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Evening – The showers gradually become more scattered as we go into the evening. These showers will be wintry at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of 1C to 7C

Friday – A cold day with frost and ice, Sleet and snow showers at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from variable directions. Temps of 1C to 6C

Saturday – An overcast day with some sunny spells. A few scattered wintry showers. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from West and North West. Temps of 2C to 7C

Sunday – The next storm system winds itself up. Further spells of heavy rain and winds gusting 40 to 60 mph at times reaching 70 mph for Uist and Barra from the West and South West. Temps of 2C to 10C

Monday – Winds easing down. Sunshine and cloud with scattered showers. Winds will be from the North West around 20 to 45 mph. Temps of 3C to 10C
