Thursday morning brief

Good morning Western Isles this is your morning briefing,

On this Thursday morning we are seeing rain and showers moving across the islands. These are falling as sleet and snow in places. Winds have eased under 20 mph but winds did gust 50 to 60 mph and overnight low of 2.3C

A reminder we are under a Met Office yellow weather warning for ice until 10:00 this morning. A full warning and latest updates can be found via the Met Office website of app.

Today – A day of sunshine and showers. These wintry at times with sleet and snow mixed in. Some of these should could be thundery at times. The showers becoming more scattered later. Plenty of cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph easing later. by the end of the day under 20 mph. Risk of frost and ice. Temps of 0C to 7C

Friday – Rain sleet and snow showers moving across the island. Risk of frost and ice. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph.

Saturday – Sleet and snow showers moving across the island. Some rain at times with sunny spells. Winds under 30 mph with risk of frost and ice. Heavier rain moves in later in the day.

Sunday – Spells of rain and showers heavy at times winds will increase again gusting 50 to 60 mph. 70 mph is possible later in the day.
