Saturday’s forecast – Cold start with rain moving in later

Good evening Western Isles on this Friday evening we are seeing rain, sleet and snow showers moving across the Western Isles. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Some frost and ice. Winds under 20 mph and today’s high of 5.2C

A reminder we are under a Met Office yellow weather warning for ice is in place till 09:00 Saturday morning. Also, a yellow weather warning for Wind comes into force from 12:00 Sunday till 12:00 Monday for large parts of the Western Isles. Overnight – Clear skies and cloud. Frost and ice with temperatures getting down to -3C in places. Wintry showers sleet and snow. Rain at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. Scattered showers these heavy and wintry at times. Some decent and prolonged sunshine at times. Frost and ice at times. Winds under 20 mph.

Evening – Scattered wintry showers. Rain will push into Uist and Barra. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Cloud increases across the islands.

Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of -3C to 6C

Sunday – Sunshine and showers squally. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph from the South West. Temps of 2C to 10C

Monday – Windy start with winds gusting 50 to 60 mph. 70 mph for Uist and Barra. Winds easing later with further spells of rain. Temps of 4C to 8C

Tuesday and Wednesday – Winds gusting 40 to5 0mhp at times reaching 60 mph with rain and showers. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 6C to 10C
