Thursday’s forecast- Staying windy

Good evening Western Isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing rain sleet and snow showers moving across the islands. We are seeing accumulations of snow. Winds gusting 50 to 60 mph and today’s high of 8.6C

A reminder we are under a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and lightning until 20:00 tomorrow evening.

I am still doing shorter and limited updates at the moment but hope to back to normal over the weekend

Thursday – Overnight sleet and snow showers to low levels. Accumulations are likely. Sunny spells and wintry squally showers for the day and evening.Further accumulations of hail and snow again. Some thundery showers again. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph. Possibly 70 mph in some exposed location. Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of 1C to 7C

Friday – Overnight winds slowly ease. Overcast morning lighter winds. Rain and showers with stronger winds later. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.Winds from the North West shifting South West. Temps of 2C to 9C becoming milder.

Saturday – Winds once again ramp up. Gusting 50 to 60 mph becoming milder. Further spells of rain and showers. Heaviest into the evening. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 60 mph. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 6C to 11C

Sunday- Same as Friday winds ease overnight. Overnight rain. Sunshine and cloud. Winds increase again later with further rains later. Winds will be from the North West shifting South West. Temps of 5C to 9C
