Monday and week ahead forecast – improvements for a time

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing rain moving across the islands. Heavy in places. Winds gusting 40 to 60 mph and today’s high of 9.5C

Overnight – Further spells of rain heavy at times but it will clear away. Clear skies and cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. Some decent spells of sunshine. Showers fairly scattered heavy and at times wintry. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Evening – Clear skies and cloud. Some further showers again wintry at times. Risk of frost and ice again in patches. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 3C to 11C

Outlook

Tuesday – Sunshine and cloud. Some decent and prolonged sunshine. Risk of frost and ice in the morning. Winds will be from the West and South West around 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 2C to 9C

Wednesday – Plenty of morning sunshine before cloud increases later. Risk of frost and ice in the morning Rain and showers at times in the evening. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.Temps of 2C to 8C

Thursday and Friday – Largely overcast with spells of rain and showers. Winds will be from the North East and North West and temps of 2C to 7C.

Next weekend – Winds increasing next weekend with a risk of gales and severe gales with spells of rain. Long way off as yet but will keep you posted.
