After plenty of sunshine in the last couple of days. Low pressure will dominate the weather for the first half of the new week. The chart below shows the areas of low pressure moving in.

Monday will also be a wet day with some parts of the islands that could see up to 20 mm of rainfall

Monday
Overnight – Clear skies and cloud. Cloud increases as the night goes on. Some early morning sunny spells. Winds under 20 mph.
Morning – Sunshine and cloud with some decent prolonged sunshine with plenty of cloud. A few scattered showers. Winds under 20 mph.
Afternoon – Overcast for most with some sunshine. Rain will slowly spread into Barra, Vatersay and then South Uist becoming heavy. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.
Evening – Rain will feed across the Western Isles this will become heavy and persistent. All parts of the Western Isles will see rain by the end of the evening. Some drizzle at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching 40 mph.
Winds will be from the South and South West shifting South East to end the day. Temps of 9C to 17C

Tuesday – Will see rounds of rain and showers moving across the islands. Heavy at times with winds of 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 12C to 17C
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday -m Sunshine and showers heavy at times. Decent spells of sunshine in between. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 8C to 16C
Long range – Next weekend is looking more settled with lighter winds and more sunshine.
