Tiree Music Festival forecast number 3

Good afternoon and welcome to the third TMF forecast. We are doing forecasts from Thursday until next Monday. We will be doing daily updates either first thing in the morning or in the afternoon with the very latest for that day.

It’s a beautiful afternoon on Tiree and we are now a couple of days away from Tiree Music Festival starting. We are getting more of an idea of how the weather is going to be for the festival. So let’s break it down.

We are going to see an overcast day with some spells of rain and drizzle. Pollen will be very high on Thursday. Some sunny spells. Most of the drizzle will be in the evening. Winds will be from the West and North West under 20 mph. Temps of 12C to 16C

A mixed day of sunshine and cloud with some light rain and drizzle. Mainly in the morning but we could see some further spells into the evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from the West and South West. Shifting North West later. Temps of 12C to 14C

Still some uncertainty as yet but it’s looking like a mixture of sunshine and cloud during Saturday daytime with showers pushing in during the late afternoon and evening. These could be heavy at times but will be fairly well scattered so they may miss the actual festival site. Winds of 10 to 20 mph from the North West. Temps of 12C to 15C

Sunday and Monday

Lots of uncertainty regarding Sunday and Monday and will depend on the placement of the high pressure system. The GFS ( Global Forecast System) forecast model keeps Sunday and Monday with sunshine and cloud. The other major model the ECMWF ( Europen Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) ( you can see why we abbreviate it) Brings rain on Sunday becoming heavy with further rain on Monday. So will keep an eye on this and keep you updated over the coming days.

All being well the next updated will be on Wednesday afternoon.
