Sunday 24th July Weather forecast for the Western Isles.

Good evening Western Isles on this Saturday evening we are seeing rain and showers. Some of these are intense in places. The very heaviest of the rain has cleared away. Winds gusting 40 mph and today’s high of 17.1C

Today has seen some heavy and slow moving rain across the Western Isles here are some of the rainfall totals and rainfall accumulation for the last 12 hours.

SEPA Rainfall sites in the Western Isles have recorded 14 mm of rainfall at Millcroft and 9.8mm at Laxdale Harris. With 11 mm of rainfalling at the Met Office South Uist range site.

Sunday we are going to see yet more rain. Things have been relitvitly dry so shouldn’t cause too many issues just quite a bit of surface water around

Overnight – Further rounds of heavy and at times torriential rain. Cloud domianting. Some mist and low cloud at imes. Some dry spots. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – The heaviest of the rain will slowly clear and its wake we will see further rain and showers. These could be thundery at times. But the risk is low. Some mist and low cloud. In the breaks some sunshine. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Evening – A mixture of sunshine and cloud with a few scattered showers. Some rain and drizzle with again mist and low cloud. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 12C to 17C

Outlook

Monday – Sunshine and cloud with scattered showers. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from the North and North West. Temps of 10C to 17C

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – Sunshine and cloud with scattered showers. But mainly dry with lighter winds. Temps of 10C to 18C

The Met Office surface pressure chart shows high pressure building across UK into the middle of the week and will bring more settled weather.
