Monday 25th July Weather forecast for the Western Isles.

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing rain and showers moving across the islands. Plenty of cloud with some clear skies. Winds under 20 mph and today’s high of 16.1C

Its been another wet day across our islands. Not as wet as on Friday and South Uist range added another 7 mm of rainfall.

Here is the latest rainfall accumulations from Netweather for the last 24 hours.

Overnight – Further spells of heavy and at times intense rainfall and drizzle at times. Cloudy with some mist and low cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud with rain and drizzle. The heaviest of rain will clear away from Lewis and Harris. A few showers which could be thundery at times. Some mist and low cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Evening – Overcast with light rain and drizzle. Some mist and low cloud. But increasing amounts of sunshine. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the North West. Temps of 10C to 15C

High pressure will build across the UK during this week so we are finally going to see more settled and drier weather for at least the middle of the week. This is highlighted in the chart below

Outlook

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – Sunshine and cloud with light winds. A few scattered showers but mainly dry. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 12C to 17C

Friday – Brisk winds with rain and showers plenty of cloud. Winds from variable directions under 20 mph and temps of 12C to 18C
