Tuesday 26th July Weather forecast for the Western Isles.

Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing a mainly overcast evening with some sunny spells. A few scattered showers with patchy rain. Winds gusting 30 mph and today’s high of 13.9C

Today was a fairly breezy July day across our islands. 37 mph in Stornoway and 39 for South Uist and Tiree.

Overnight – Showers heavy at times. Some clear skies and plenty of cloud. Winds under 20 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Further morning showers heavy at times but becoming more scattered into the afternoon. Some patchy rain later. Some decent and prolonged sunshine. Variable amounts of cloud. Winds under 20 mph.

Evening – Sunshine and cloud. A few lingering showers but largely becoming fine and dry. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of 10c to 17C

High pressure remains firmly in charge for the middle of this week. As shown by the chart below

Wednesday – Sunshine and cloud with light winds. Few scattered showers. Winds under 20 mph from variable directions. Temps of 11C to 17C

Thursday – A fine and dry day with some decent and prolonged sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. Winds under 20 mph from the South East. Temps of 11C to 19c

Friday and Saturday – Brisk winds with showers. Plenty of cloud. Winds of 10 to 35 mph. Temps of 8C to 15C
