Good evening Western isles on this Friday evening we are seeing rain moving across the islands this is heavy in places. Plenty of cloud. Winds gusting 40 mph and today’s high of 18.8C
here is a recent radar grab showing the rainfall moving across the Western Isles this evening. Quite the contrast from this morning with the blue skies and sunshine.
Overnight – The heavy rain will slowly clear away. Staying overcast with some drizzle and low cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.
Morning – Overcast with some rain and drizzle. A few scattered showers and some sunshine. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.
Afternoon – Sunshine and cloud with some drizzle. A few again scattered showers but becoming dry for most by the end of the afternoon. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.
Evening – For most fine dry and sunny with variable amounts of cloud. Some patchy rain but again for most it will be dry. Winds under 20 mph.
Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 10C to 17C

Sunday – We are expecting to see a mainly fine and dry day with sunshine and cloud. A chilly early morning with temps down to 7C
Monday – Sunshine and cloud with light winds. Some rain moving in later in the day. Winds under 20 mph till the late evening gusting 30 mph from the South and South West shifting South East to end the day. Temps of 9C to 16C
Later into next week after a spell of high pressure two areas of low pressure will bring more unsettled weather for the middle of next weather as highlighted in the chart below for Tuesday
Tuesday and Wednesday – Brisk winds gusting 20 to 40 mph with cloud and spells of rain heavy at times. Temps of 9C to 7C
Looking further ahead and its looking like things might turn more settled high pressure dominating towards the end of next week and the second week of August. Something I keeping an eye on.
